Anti Brexit campaigners project 'Lying Tory' picture of Jacob Rees-Mogg on Edinburgh Castle

Anti Brexit campaigners casted a massive picture of Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg onto the side of Edinburgh Castle earlier this week.

The striking collage was projected on Wednesday night and featured a series of images including one of the Brexiteer reclining in the House of Commons above the words "Lying Tory", reports Edinburgh Live .

He came under fire for slouching on the green benches during a crucial debate on legislation to prevent a No Deal Brexit on Tuesday.

His unusual posture quickly became a meme, and inspired the campaign group Led By Donkeys for the Edinburgh Castle stunt.

They have previously put up billboards featuring Rees-Mogg and Nigel Farage around Edinburgh .

The moving images projected onto the Castle Rock also read "They're Lying" and "No one voted for this."

Due to the size of the pictures they were visible from miles away.

Tom Duffin Tweeted: "Those @ByDonkeys  folk are waving a red flag on Edinburgh Castle tonight (other colours available too) which was visible from 3 miles away."

It was part of a campaign from Led By Donkeys using prominent locations around the UK.

These have included the Angel of the North, with "Get Ready for shortages of fresh food and price increases" and "Stop Boris" projected onto the statue.
