Anti-bikie police charge man after nine guns, drugs uncovered in raid

Police have charged an alleged bikie in Newcastle after an earlier raid uncovered nine guns, ammunition and a commercial quantity of prohibited drugs.

The Raptor Squad launched Strike Force Bancroft to investigate drug supply and firearm possession by the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Raptor North officers conducted firearm prohibition compliance checks at homes at Halekulani on the Central Coast and Cameron Park in Lake Macquarie.

During those searches, police allegedly seized privately manufactured firearm silencer and prohibited drugs.

Police were then notified about 9.30am on February 3 to a single-vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway at San Remo on the Central Coast. A man was allegedly seen running away with a black bag.

Police were backed by the dog squad during a search of the area and discovered two black bags. They allegedly contained a case with two pistols and "a large amount" of the drugs ice and MDMA.

Raptor North officers conducted a crime scene warrant at a home at San Remo a short time later, where police allegedly seized seven more firearms, ammunition, drugs, two pill presses, drug paraphernalia and $6500 cash.

Three men have since been charged and remain before the courts.

Extensive investigations led police to arrest 24-year-old Jacob Flynn at Newcastle Police Station on Thursday, July 16.

He was charged with 24 offences, including two counts of supplying a prohibited drug greater than a large commercial quantity, which carries life imprisonment if convicted.
