A demonstration against the government’s ongoing embrace of austerity economics takes place in London over the weekend.

Organised by The People’s Assembly and supported by various unions and campaign groups, the march aims to highlight the damage caused by government cuts and privatisation across the country, while also sparking a debate about how to protect the welfare state and develop an alternative to the current political and economic status quo.

Tens of thousands are expected to attend the march. Are you one of them? Share your stories and images with us. As well as pictures from the day, we want to hear your individual story: why did you decide to march? How has austerity has affected you, your family and your community? What do you hope the demonstration will achieve?

You can contribute your stories by clicking on the blue banner below. We’ll feature them in our coverage of the march on the Guardian website.
