At the start of the Syrian uprising in 2011, a group of children scrawled anti-Assad graffiti on a wall in the southern city of Deraa.

Samer Syasneh was one of the boys involved in the protest that some believe triggered the Syrian uprising.

He shared his story with Al Jazeera.
