As Homes & Gardens' Head of Living I'm always on the look out for stylish tableware to switch up my hosting game for the seasons and trends. I'm not usually swayed by pieces that have a short shelf (or should I say 'table') life, that can only be used for a few days of the year. With sustainability and quality in mind as well as cost-saving, I prefer to mix and match classic basics with a few carefully chosen, but versatile statement pieces.
However, Anthropologie's Halloween bistro tile collection has just dropped and it might well have just changed my mind. Inspired by the bistro-style tiles often seen in Parisian cafés and patisseries, the range is not only a seasonal statement for fall, but a masterclass in chic tableware design.
Homes & Gardens' Style Editor, Julia Demer, says: 'Halloween decor can go kitsch in all the wrong ways. But French-inspired design can make even the most absurd theme feel chic. Anthropologie’s Halloween bistro tile collection is no exception, keeping things festive without feeling overly spooky. Somehow, it gives both sophisticated brunch and trick-or-treat all at once.'

The Halloween range is an extension of Anthropologie's popular bistro tile collection, which features kettles, toasters, door knobs and cake stands, as well as plates, bowls, jugs and accent pieces, such as sugar pots, cheese platters and spoon rests.
While the wider collection includes bee, flower and butterfly motifs and summer colorways, the Halloween range majors on minimal monochrome with 24k gold-decal accents for a touch of luxe, making for a dramatic yet classic fall tablescape.
I've got my eye on the less overtly Halloween pieces with longevity of use in mind, such as the treats cannister, which I'll use for storing away the kids' candy all year round. And I'm loving the cat espresso cup and saucer which will be perfect for enjoying mindful moments with my morning coffee.

However, I have to admit that I'm a little heart-eyed over the themed statement pieces, too – who wouldn't fall for that trick or treat popcorn bowl? – and I'm already daydreaming about the colorful range of knobbly gourds I'll be returning with from my annual trip to the local pumpkin patch, so that I can get styling as soon as fall arrives.
I'm sure I won't be the only one eyeing up this stylish collection, and I'm convinced that they won't be hanging around for long. So treat yourself now and get ahead for fall decorating, as I'm predicting that this Anthropologie Halloween bistro tile collection will be snapped up before the summer is out.
Don't miss a trick – take your pick from my favorite pieces from the range below.
Go all out with the Trick or Treat logo version (pictured) or opt for a more subtle cat design that will last past Halloween for French-style brunches – perfect with pastries, teamed with the matching espresso mug.
Elevate seasonal cocoa or simply sip your espresso from these stylish cups, which come in trick or treat or cat designs. A flourish of whipped cream and red or black sauce will add a spooky twist.
I'd use these year-round as natty utensil pots or vases – again, the cat design is a little more versatile, but the bat one would make a wonderful halloween table centre filled with orange blooms.
This feels like one of those pieces you'll buy and hand down through the generations. Pile it high with candies for trick or treating or popcorn for a scary movie night. It's an irresistable statement piece.
Perfect for halloween hosting and serving up spooky treats on. Or I'd pile it up with some mini pumpkins and seasonal leaves for a fall table centrepiece.
My kids would adore this treats cannister for stashing all of their trick or treat candy to delve into. I'd also use it for the rest of the year and might even squirrel away my own treats in there away from little hands.
