Anthony Yarde battles Lyndon Arthur tonight in hat promises to be one of the best all-British fights of 2020 as the light heavyweights do battle in London.
Yarde has boxed at a higher level than Arthur, falling short in a world title bout against Russian Sergey Kovalev, who has since been knocked out by Canelo Alvarez, who will take on Briton Callum Smith later this month.
But Yarde impressively returned to the ring with a stoppage victory over Dec Spelman in September, dispatching his opponent in six rounds by TKO. While Arthur has also mixed with Spelman, instead overcoming his man by a unanimous points decision.
Arthur has the boxing skills to frustrate and confuse Yarde, who is thought to have more power. The Mancunian has not tasted defeat so far in 17 professional outings, while Yarde maintains he is above this level of opposition and will see Arthur as a springboard to return to world level in 2021 in his pursuit of a world champinship.
Look out for exciting prospect Willy Hutchinson, who enjoyed a glittering amateur career, on the undercard in his biggest test as a professional yet, as he bids to capture the British middleweight title, though Lennox Clarke stands in his way.
