Ireland's Anthony Stokes could be set to return to Iran after Tehran-based club offered him an 18-month contract, according to the Daily Record.
The former Celtic and Hibs striker is considering an offer from Esteghlal, who want Stokes to boost their glory bid in the Persian Gulf Pro League, after a successful period with Tractor in the 2018/19 season.
The striker made a promising start but his time in Iran was dogged by personal problems with family back home and Tractor decided to terminate his contract.
Stokes, capped nine times by Ireland between 2007 and 2014, is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish side Adana Demirspor.
