Anthony Rocco Martin wants to get back into the win column, and he’s willing to travel all the way to Russia to do it.
Martin will meet Ramazan Emeev in a lightweight matchup at UFC on ESPN+ 21 on CSKA Arena in Moscow, Russia. MMA Junkie confirmed an initial Tuesday report by Combate.
Martin (16-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) has won seven out of his past nine bouts. He took a four-fight winning streak into a June 29 matchup with Demian Maia, but the crafty veteran eked out a majority-decision win over Martin.
Emeev (18-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC), for his part, has largely been under the radar during his UFC stint, but if he keeps performing as he has, it shouldn’t stay that way much longer. The Dagestan native has won seven consecutive bouts, including unanimous decisions in all three of his UFC fights.
The Moscow card will be headlined by a battle of former world heavyweight champions, with ex-UFC champion Junior Dos Santos taking on former Bellator titleholder Alexander Volkov.
