Anthony Rizzo gives Little League team passes for Cubs-Athletics game

OAKLAND, Calif. _ Previous commitments prevented Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo from attending the Little League Intermediate World Series in nearby Livermore.

But Rizzo took care of the Parkland (Fla.) team by providing passes for them to Friday's game between the Cubs and Oakland Athletics.

Rizzo participated in the Parkland league as a youth and has maintained strong ties.

'It's cool what they're doing," Rizzo said of Parkland, which is competing in the 13-year-old division. "When I played, the league just started. It's great to see how far they've come."

The Series is played at the same field that produced Hall of Fame left-hander Randy Johnson.
