Anthony Richardson did the ‘Fly, Eagles Fly!’ celly after the Colts scored on Philly, and it was glorious

Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson may still have a ways to go before he reaches his NFL potential, but it doesn’t seem like finding confidence on the field will be a problem.

During a 27-13 road preseason win against the Philadelphia Eagles, Richardson’s Colts offense scored a touchdown on the Eagles that came with a very pointed celebration for the Philly crowd.

On the drive that Richardson orchestrated, the rookie waved his arms up and down in the end zone to imitate the “Fly, Eagles, Fly!” cheer that Philadelphia fans know very well.

While some may say that Richardson hasn’t earned the right to do such a celebration, the rest of us on the fun side of the NFL absolutely loved the quarterback’s hilarious choice of celly.

Richardson said post-game that he didn’t mean any ill-will with the celebration, as it was just done to enjoy the moment.

“Sometimes when you get into the end zone, you just freeze up and don’t know what to do. So I was contemplating what I was going to do if I scored or if somebody else scored. So I ran down there and I was just flapping my arms and having fun,” Richardson said after the game, via NFL. “I hope nobody took it the wrong way. I was just balling, having fun out there, and enjoying it.”

Like, sure, this touchdown came against the Eagles backups, but who cares? Richardson has as much of a right as anyone else to celebrate however the heck he pleases when his team scores a touchdown, and goodness knows the Philly crowd can handle it with all the taunting they give opposing players.

Richardson knows as much as anyone that playing quarterback in the NFL requires a boatload of confidence, so it’s good to see the Colts starter growing in one of the game’s most important factors. After all, confidence is key.

Some NFL fans couldn't help but give Richardson kudos for this hilarious celly.
