Colby Donovan could be set for his chance in Celtic's first team after the break, according to a report.
It comes as right-back Anthony Ralston looks set to withdraw from the Scotland squad through injury.
The Scottish Sun reports that the defender is carrying an ankle knock from the away leg of the Champions League play-off defeat against Kairat Almaty.
The right-back is said to have played through Sunday's derby with Rangers while still feeling the effects of the injury.
Alistair Johnston suffered a hamstring tear during the first leg of the Champions League qualifier, which is set to keep him out for some time.
So, with Ralston in need of some rest to allow his ankle to heal, it would appear that Donovan is next in line to play.

Celtic's next game is an away clash in the Scottish Premiership against Kilmarnock on Sunday, September 14.
That is swiftly followed by a Premier Sports Cup quarter-final clash against Partick Thistle, and then their opening Europa League matchday versus FK Crvena Zvezda.
Should Ralston be missing for any of these matches, this leaves Donovan, 18, as the only recognised right-back in the squad.
Donovan has featured as a substitute against both Livingston and Kairat in recent weeks during the early stages of the campaign.
