Anthony Ogogo has revealed his fury after a homophobic family member branded his sister's same-sex wedding an "abomination".

The pro boxer, 30, shared a video on Twitter about officiating his sister's wedding to her wife.

In a tweet which went viral, Anthony revealed that after posting a video on Twitter showing the sweet moment, he had lost 100 followers.

He tweeted: "It seems like a tiny %age of my followers were homophobes, to those iniquitous divs I say [middle finger emoji]. I don't want you mob following me anyway. #LoveIsLove."

Appearing on This Morning today, Anthony opened up about his anger over the reaction.

"People saw my tweet and were so angry," he said. "That annoyed me."

Asked by host Phillip Schofield whether anyone had said anything to his sister, he said: "I've had a few comments like 'That's not right'."

He added: "Someone, actually a family member, said 'That';s an abomination'. They decided not to go to the wedding because they didn't believe in it.

"I think the fact that I'm a boxer, I don't get a lot of abuse from certain people.

"But I saw that and it really upset me because I'm so happy for my sister that she's found someone that she loves and they love her. They've taken her boys on as her own children and that should be celebrated, not looked down upon."

However Anthony said that he had also been "blown away" by the support from the boxing community.
