Anthony McCurry: Police release CCTV images of missing Glasgow man not seen since July

Police are continuing to appeal for information in their search for missing Glasgow man Anthony McCurry.

The 33-year-old hasn't been since July 28, with his family and friends growing increasingly concerned for his welfare as detectives describe his mystery disappearance as 'out of character'

Police have today released CCTV images of Anthony, which show at The Anvil Inn in Blackhill in the north east of Glasgow on that afternoon. Later in the day, he went to nearby Princess Bar, which is also on Smithycroft Road, which is where he was last seen at around 6pm.

Officers are encouraging anyone who may recognise Anthony from the photos to come forward.

"He was seen in this premises at around 2.30pm and in an outside smoker’s area at around 2.50pm. He is believed to have been at the premises for at least an hour. Anthony then went on to the Princess Bar, Smithcroft Road, Glasgow, where he was last seen by bar staff at approximately 6pm.

Anthony hasn't been seen since July 28 (Police Scotland)

"Anthony is seen wearing black jeans, dark coloured shoes, a blue t-shirt under a dark coloured zip through hooded top, which has a slight cheque pattern on."

Sergeant Scott Clark commented: “These are the last confirmed images of Anthony and we believe that he left the Anvil Inn at around 4pm on Wednesday, 28 July before travelling on to the Princess Bar and leaving at around 6pm. No-one has seen or heard from Anthony since this time which is out of character. Due to this we are now very concerned for his welfare.

“I would ask anyone who may have been in this premises and saw Anthony, or who could have seen him in the wider Blackhill area, to get in contact with officers. I would further ask anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Those with sightings or information should report this to Police Scotland via 101 and quote incident number 1967 of 5 August 2021.
