Anthony Martial sent Newcastle United transfer message

Anthony Martial has been urged to get his 'career back on track' with a move to Newcastle United.

That is the view of pundit Paddy Kenny, who believes the signing of the wantaway Manchester United forward would be a 'massive coup' for the Magpies.

Martial publicly outlined his desire to leave Old Trafford earlier this month having fallen out of favour under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Ragnick.

Sevilla have seen a loan offer for the 26-year-old rebuffed, but the La Liga outfit are reportedly prepared to return with an improved offer to seal a January deal.

The Red Devils made Martial the most expensive teenager in world football in 2015, but the former Monaco forward has fallen down the pecking order in recent seasons.

The France international has netted just once in 10 appearances so far this season, and a move to Sevilla is reportedly the attacker's preferred destination.

However, Kenny believes 'money talks' and the St James' Park atmosphere in the recent 1-1 draw with Manchester United will have impressed potential January transfer targets.

He told Football Insider: “Martial wants out, we all know that.

Newcastle are on the lookout for a new striker. Would he come to Newcastle?

“Money talks and they have plenty of money now. I don’t think you can rule out anyone.

“It’s a massive club. I know it’s North and people say it puts players off.

“But look at that game against Man United. The atmosphere was unbelievable.

“That was just from me watching it on the TV. If they could get Martial that would be a massive coup and maybe that’s what he needs.

“A run of games as an out and out striker could be what he needs to get his career back on track.”
