Anthony Martial, Nemanja Matic and players Manchester United could be without for Liverpool

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be without four players for Sunday's crucial Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

United enter the game with a three-point advantage over Jurgen Klopp's side following the midweek victory over Burnley.

The Old Trafford club could extend that margin to six points if they win at Anfield for the first time since 2016.

As a result, the clash between the two historic rivals has become one of the most fiercely-anticipated meetings in recent years.

United could be without four players for the fixture due to injury issues, some of whom are more important than others.

The biggest concern surrounds Anthony Martial, who picked up a hamstring issue in the midweek clash with Burnley, coming off as a substitute late in the game.

Nemanja Matic also appeared to suffer a muscular injury during that game and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed both players will be assessed on Saturday.

Brandon Williams, yet to start a Premier League match this season, and Phil Jones, who is not registered, are the two players guaranteed to miss out.

"There are a couple of knocks that we got at Burnley that I'm not sure about. I'm going to give everyone another day.

"Anthony is not out of it. The only ones certainly out are Brandon and Phil Jones, they're the two that definitely cannot make the game, a couple of others maybe doubts, but we're hoping, fingers crossed."
