Anthony Martial makes Tottenham prediction following Jose Mourinho's appointment as head coach

Anthony Martial believes Tottenham will continue to impress under Jose Mourinho following his appointment as head coach two weeks ago.

Enduring a difficult start to the season after reaching the Champions League final back in June, Daniel Levy decided the time was right to part with Mauricio Pochettino despite a hugely successful five-and-a-half years in N17.

Mourinho's arrival has already sparked an upturn in results with Spurs so far winning all three of their games under the experienced 56-year-old.

The French international is confident the results will continue over the coming weeks, especially given that all the players will be looking to make an instant impression on their new boss.

Man United v Tottenham: Premier League match preview

"For sure. When a manager of this calibre arrives at a club, the players will always be very keen to show just what they are capable of, and to show some character," he told United Review.

"So yes, I'm expecting him to create a good vibe and that the players will try to respond to what he wants to do there.

"It will definitely be tougher for us against them now because they were in the middle of a bit of a poor run, and now with a new manager at the helm, they'll be trying to start again from scratch."

Prior to Mourinho taking charge of the Lilywhites two weeks ago, Spurs found themselves 14th in the Premier League table after some bad results under Pochettino.

However, things a looking a lot better at present after two successive league wins saw the club close to within six points of Chelsea in the final Champions League place.

Opening up on their shock start to the season, Martial, who has been linked with a move to north London in the past, is expecting the team to make up for their poor opening and start rising up the table.

"Yes, I have because they had a good season last time around and managed to make it to the Champions League final, so I was expecting them to be doing better," he said when asked if he had been surprised by their start to the campaign.

"But I'm sure they will manage to bounce back and climb up the table. I have no doubts that they will because they have a good side with some great players."
