Anthony Martial and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Inter Milan transfer shortlist

Manchester United ace Anthony Martial and Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are reportedly on Inter Milan's transfer shortlist to replace Lautaro Martinez in the summer.

Argentinian striker Martinez, once linked with the Red Devils, is being tipped to head to Barcelona in the summer with Tuttosport claiming a €150million move is on the cards as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

With growing concern they could be set to lose their star man, the ambitious Serie A club have already started drawing up a list of possible replacements using the cash they would receive for Martinez.

They could turn to the Premier League yet again in a bid to land a star striker, with Aubameyang, previously named as a target for the club, reportedly joined by Martial on their shortlist.

It is also claimed they could rival Liverpool for Timo Werner whilst Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann is named as their 'dream' signing.

Free agent options such as Olivier Giroud and Dries Mertens are also mentioned as they consider their options, but Marital and Aubameyang could be pursued.

Martial joined United from Monaco for a huge fee in 2015 and has attracted plenty of criticism during his inconsistent career at Old Trafford.

He has bagged 14 goals this season, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this week backing him to break the 20-goal milestone.

"I think Anthony can step up, get a few more and get to the 20 mark, yeah, definitely," the United boss said.

"He's got quality of course. He's a very good finisher. He takes his chances really well, good technique in his finishing.

"He's good receiving the ball at times and dropping off. He can play almost like a false nine at times as well. Sometimes I'd like him to be stronger physically."

Aubameyang, meanwhile, has become captain of the Gunners after Granit Xhaka was stripped of the armband.

He took to his programme column to reaffirm his commitment to Arsenal in January amid Barcelona transfer rumours but is yet to commit his future to the club with a new contract.

His current deal is due to expire at the end of next season.
