Anthony Martial and Manchester United players arrive at Carrington ahead of Newcastle clash

Anthony Martial has arrived at Carrington as United players train ahead of tomorrow's Premier League fixture with Newcastle United.

Martial hasn't featured since August 24 due to a thigh problem and he is expected to miss the trip to the North East on Sunday, but his arrival at Carrington ahead of the international break will give United encouragement that he could be fit to return against Liverpool on October 20.

Jesse Lingard also arrived at Carrington despite limping off late on against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night with a hamstring problem. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones were also in attendance for Saturday morning's session.

United have faced a quick turnaround this week, having returned from Holland straight away Thursday night's goalless draw with AZ in the Europa League. They will travel north ahead of the game with Newcastle later on Saturday afternoon.

Injuries are mounting up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , with Lingard the latest to suffer a knock. He joins Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Martial, Bailly and Jones in expecting to miss tomorrow's clash, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been ill.

Asked on Thursday night whether he expected any players to return against Newcastle, Solskjaer said: "I don't know. Let's see on Saturday morning, [but] probably not."

United will seek to end a run of 10 games without an away win when they face Newcastle at St James' Park.
