The actor Anthony Mackie has voiced his endorsement of Donald Trump, saying he would even like to run the businessman’s campaign because he is “an easy sell” to the American people.
“I would 100 per cent want to run Trump's campaign. 100 per cent,” the 37-year-old told BET.com.
“I mean, first that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell.”
Mackie was promoting his film Our Brand Is Crisis when he was asked which candidate he would endorse for president in 2016.
“When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing,” he said.
“And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that…I’m on the bandwagon. I’m drinking the Kool-Aid!"
Mackie, who who appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, said he did not feel he himself was cut out for a career in politics.
“I don’t think I would be able to hack it in politics,” he said.
“If you question me, or you say something about my family, I’m coming at you, so I would definitely lose every presidential race.”
