Anthony Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn issues Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder verdict

Anthony Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has claimed that Tyson Fury 'doesn't look ready' for the trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King is set to fight Wilder for a third time in Las Vegas next weekend, following a controversial draw in the first bout and a resounding victory in the rematch.

Fury 's clash with Wilder was set to be the final hurdle for the Manchester fighter before a unification bout with Anthony Joshua but those plans are now left uncertain following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk next weekend.

Instead, a next opponent for Fury could be fellow Brit Dillian Whyte but the focus will now fully be on Wilder - but Hearn hasn't issued a positive judgement.

“Tyson Fury doesn’t look ready, in my opinion. I still think he’ll win comfortably, but it does throw in the likelihood of a mistake happening," he told Boxing Social.

“If you make a mistake against Deontay Wilder, it could cost you the fight. He’s very dangerous. I don’t see him [Fury] losing a round, but it doesn’t really matter. One mistake, and it can be over.

“I generally hope he wins because I want the WBC to order the mandatory of Fury – [Dillian] Whyte."

Fury's fight with Wilder comes on the back of a complicated year, which saw a proposed bout with Joshua cancelled following a ruling from an American judge that a rematch could take place.

The bout in Las Vegas was originally set to take place on July 24th but was postponed following an outbreak of coronavirus in Fury's camp.

Fury also took time off his training camp in August following the birth of his daughter, who spent time in intensive care due to health problems.
