Let Anthony Joshua be a lesson:
Never doubt the Drake Curse. It won’t end well.
The English boxing star lost an absolute stunner on Saturday night to Andy Ruiz Jr. — a defeat that cost Joshua all three of his heavyweight title belts.
Ruiz was a late fill-in and should have been physically overmatched by Joshua. Instead, Ruiz shocked Madison Square Garden with four knockdowns and a seventh-round TKO.
After the upset, fans had plenty of jokes for Joshua. But many kept going back to his March 21 tweet with Drake. Joshua had vowed to break the Drake Curse in anticipation of his June 1 fight. When he ended up losing to Ruiz, Twitter predictably went off on that old tweet.
So many jokes.
So …. we should probably congratulate the Golden State Warriors on another NBA title.
The Drake Curse is the real heavyweight champion of the world. There’s no denying that now.
