Anthony Joshua claims he still flies economy so Eddie Hearn can 'save pennies'

He’s 6ft 6in tall, weighs 17st 8lbs and is worth £49million.

But former world heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua claims he is still made to squeeze his lengthy limbs into tiny economy seats when he flies off to gigs – so his manager Eddie Hearn can “save the pennies”.

Laughing at the idea that he enjoys the luxury of a private jet – “I wish,” he scoffs – Anthony insists he flies commercial.

“We fly economy,” he says. “We have got to save some pennies.”

The 29-year-old told EastEnders star Jake Wood’s boxing podcast Pound for Pound: “Someone told me when you fly from Dubai to New York, when you go on the Emirates plane, they have got showers and all that stuff.”

He asked an air stewardess if he could book in to the washrooms on his next flight but was told there were, sadly, no showers on his commercial flight.

He says: “There was a tiny toilet where I could hardly fit. That was it.”

Meanwhile, fellow boxer Tyson Fury admits he drunk dials Anthony for
some “friendly banter” (telling him he’ll knock him out) – as well as Wayne Rooney.

Drunkenly calling Anthony Joshua and threatening him probably isn’t that high on many people’s to-do lists…
