Anthony Joshua breaks silence after Deontay Wilder puts Tyson Fury fight in doubt

Anthony Joshua's plans to fight Tyson Fury appear to be in tatters after an arbitrator ruled the 'Gypsy King' must fight Deontay Wilder in his next bout.

And now, Joshua has broken his silence and tweeted for the first time since news of the arbitrator's ruling emerged.

The WBA, WBO and IBF champion was set to fight Fury in an all-English showdown in Saudi Arabia on August 14.

But now, it has been ruled that Fury might fight Wilder instead.

Joshua is yet to comment on the update, but posted a video to his Twitter page showing him jogging along the road.

Joshua captioned the video: "Running the game," along with a crown emoji.

Joshua could end up fighting Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight after the latest twist.

The Ukranian heavyweight is mandatory for Joshua's WBO belt, and is eager to get a shot at a world title having unified the cruiserweight division.

After news emerged that Fury would be forced to fight Wilder in his next bout, it was suggested that the 'Bronze Bomber' would accept a step aside deal.

It had been speculated that Wilder would accept a deal to fight the winner of Joshua vs Fury, but it now seems that isn't the case.

Bob Arum, Fury's promoter, has confirmed that he has reserved a stadium in Las Vegas for a fight this summer.

Eddie Hearn insists there's still a chance of the fight being made, and revealed how Joshua reacted to the news.

He said on Tuesday: "[Joshua] just said to me, ‘listen, go and do your work. You’re the man to take care of it, over to you. I’ll be in the gym, let me know’.

“That was nice, it’s nice to be given that kind of responsibility. It got to about 11:30 last night and I just thought, ‘you know what, the phone is going off’.

“Had a very nice sleep, I spoke to AJ this morning, and we go to work again. It’s just another day of ups and downs, this is the boxing business.”
