Anthony Joshua-backed CBD brand Love Hemp creates 30 jobs with new Manchester office

A fast-growing CBD brand, which counts two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua among its investors, has opened a new office in Manchester as it gears up for global expansion.

Love Hemp has signed a two-year lease to take over 1,800 sq ft of space within Department Bonded Warehouse in the Enterprise City district of the city centre.

A total of 30 jobs for brand and marketing experts will be created with the new location, headed up by Ian Munzberger, Love Hemp’s chief partnerships officer.

The CBD health and wellness brand launched in Croydon, London, in 2015, where its head office and manufacturing operation is centred.

Its new Manchester base will become the marketing and creative hub for the company.

Founded by friends Tony Calamita and Tom Rowland, Love Hemp sells over 40 products including oils, edibles, sprays, cosmetics and topicals.

The company’s range of products are sold online across 70 websites and in over 2,000 stores including some of the biggest retailers in the UK, such as Holland & Barrett, Boots and Ocado.

CEO Mr Calamita said: "We are delighted to be opening a new workspace in Manchester.

"We chose the city because Manchester is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with some brilliant brand and marketing talent.

"Department Bonded Warehouse gives us an inspiring space for our creative and marketing hub to collaborate and grow as we become a global leader for CBD wellness products."

Mr Munzberger added: "The expansion into Manchester will provide the perfect space for a fast-growing business like Love Hemp to thrive.

"We’re looking forward to bringing stars like Anthony Joshua and our UFC ambassadors for photo shoots and press days."

Anthony Powell, managing director at Department Bonded Warehouse, said: "We’re delighted to welcome Love Hemp to our growing wellness business community at Department Bonded Warehouse.
