Anthony Hernandez announces positive COVID-19 test, postponed UFC fight vs. Rodolfo Vieira

Anthony Hernandez is the latest fighter to fall victim to COVID-19.

Hernandez (8-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) announced Sunday he’s tested positive for coronavirus and is unable to compete in his scheduled middleweight bout against Rodolfo Vieira (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) on the UFC’s first card of the year Jan. 16 in Abu Dhabi.

According to Hernandez’s statement, the matchup is being rescheduled for the promotion’s Feb. 13 event.

Check out his statement below (via Instagram):

Happy New Year! Good news is that #teamFluffy is safe and gear goes out next week 💯 bad news is the fights delayed — 2020 left me with the covid. I’m good tho — and rescheduled for 2/13 🙏🏽🐔🥊 #areyounotentertained
