Anthony Gordon's loan exit could open door for Josh King Everton transfer

Everton are understood to be close to agreeing a deal to send Anthony Gordon on loan to Preston North End.

And Gordon's move could now open the door for a late move for Bournemouth striker Josh King.

The collapse of Bernard's move to Al-Nasr earlier today meant Everton needed to move Gordon out of the squad in order to free up space for any new arrivals.

Gordon is now closing in on a move to the Championship for the rest of the season and it is expected to signal a race against time for Everton to try and wrap up a deal for King.

Everton have completed the loan of Cenk Tosun to Besiktas today which leaves Carlo Ancelotti's forward options extremely limited.

And so the Blues made an enquiry about King earlier in the day and with Gordon's move to Deepdale moving towards a conclusion, it is believed it could pave the way for Everton to step up their interest in King.
