Anthony Gordon joins Preston on loan from Everton

Everton have confirmed that Anthony Gordon has completed a loan move to Preston North End for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.

The 19-year-old will move to the Championship after the Lilywhites made a late swoop on transfer deadline day to secure his signature on a temporary basis.

With Bernard's proposed switch to Al-Nasr falling through earlier in the day, it was decided that a loan for Gordon would be possible to give him the opportunity of more game time.

The exciting youngster broke his way into the Everton first team last term and begun the season as a regular part of the senior setup under Carlo Ancelotti.

However, after promising performances in League Cup matches against Salford City and Fleetwood Town at the beginning of this season, the winger has struggled for regular game time.

Gordon made three appearances in the Premier League across 2020/21 before having a deadline day loan move confirmed.

In total the winger has made 20 appearances for the senior side since his debut against Apollon Limassol in 2017, but is yet to bag his first goal for the first time.
