Anthony Fauci praises 'classy' Brad Pitt for Saturday Night Live impression

Dr Anthony Fauci has praised Brad Pitt for expertly impersonating him on Saturday Night Live.

Last week’s at-home episode of the comedy programme kicked off with Pitt playing the doctor as he reacted to some of the most bizarre claims made by President Donald Trump about the coronavirus pandemic.

Having previously joked that he’d like to be played by Pitt on the sketch show, Fauci, who is a leading member of Trump’s coronavirus task force, told Un Nuevo Dia that he was thrilled with the impersonation.

“I think he did great,” Fauci said. “I’m a great fan of Brad Pitt, and that’s the reason why when people ask me who I would like to play me, I mention Brad Pitt. He’s one of my favourite actors. I think he did a great job.”

During one clip from the second remote SNLepisode, the actor removed his wig to thank Fauci and other key workers for their “calm and clarity in this unnerving time”.

Responding to this moment, Fauci said: “I think he showed that he is really a classy guy when at the end he took off his hair and thanked me and all of the health care workers. So not only is he a really great actor, but he is actually a classy person.”
