Anthony Elanga is the latest youngster to sign a new long-term contract with Manchester United.

The 18-year-old forward has penned a new deal at United which will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, although no specific details regarding the length of the contract have been announced.

Elanga has been at United since the age of 12 and won the club's highly coveted Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year award last season.

The teenage winger has often been utilised in a central role for the U23s side following a striker shortage, netting 8 goals and notching 3 assists in his 16 appearances this term.

Elanga, who has been sidelined since January through injury, is currently a Sweden youth international although some football fans might remember that his father, Joseph, played at the 1998 World Cup finals for Cameroon.

News of Elanga's new deal completes a double boost for United following the announcement of a similar new deal for young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on Monday.

Hannibal has also signed a long-term deal at Old Trafford after another stellar season at youth level which has been hit by a recent shoulder injury.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder joined United from Monaco in 2019 and has impressed in Neil Wood's under-23s side, scoring four goals and laying on seven assists in 18 appearances this season.
