Manchester United's action-packed fixture schedule gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the chance to continue the club's proudest tradition in the Premier League defeat to Leicester City.
The United boss made ten changes to his side as he looked to manage his squad during a hectic period of four games in seven days.
Solskjaer's weakened side, including peripheral players like Alex Telles, Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe, were defeated 2-1 after Caglar Soyuncu's second-half header at Old Trafford.
The defeat meant Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were officially crowned Champions with three games remaining.
But the game offered Solskjaer the chance to cast an eye over his younger players and he even gave academy teenager Anthony Elanga his first-team debut.

Elanga was the 14th academy graduate to be debuted by Solskjaer since the Norwegian took charge and it was the latest glimpse into the future for United supporters.
The 19-year-old winger was substituted for Marcus Rashford in the 66th minute but enjoyed some bright touches despite not coming up with a decisive moment.
Solskjaer understands the importance of blooding youth at Old Trafford and Elanga's reaction after the game proves how much his trust means for the club's future stars.

"An honour to make my debut tonight," Elanga wrote on Instagram.
"Everyone knows how much this Club means to me.
"It’s been a long journey to this point and I couldn’t have achieved this without the support of my family.
"There are so many people that I am thankful for in making this dream come true."
Elanga could feature again for United before the Premier League season reaches it's conclusion as the Reds take on Fulham and Wolves after Thursday's rearranged clash against Liverpool.
Solskjaer is likely to rest players ahead of the crucial Europa League final against Villarreal and youngsters like Elanga and Shola Shoretire could get the chance to shine again.
