Anthony Davis will miss Lakers-Warriors game with shoulder injury

The Golden State Warriors will be doing battle with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, and for a club in search of its first win since November 4, their odds of leaving Staples Center with a win seemed to improve mightily.

Anthony Davis will miss the contest, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Davis has been battling some shoulder soreness over the past couple games, and although he didn’t seem to be slowed down by the ailment on Tuesday night, he will be held out of Wednesday night’s contest.

In that contest which saw the Lakers prevail by a final score of 123-115, Davis scored a game-high 24 points while also recording 14 rebounds and four assists.

Considering the fact that he’s a bit banged up, though, it does make sense for the Lakers to give him the night off on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Warriors will obviously try to capitalize.

Entering play on November 13, Golden State has struggled on both ends of the floor. The club will carry a 2-9 record into Wednesday night’s contest, second-worst in the league behind only the New York Knicks.
