Anthony Davis traded to Lakers for Ball, Ingram, Hart and 3 picks

The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James have finally got their man. It came at quite the cost, but Anthony Davis is on his way to the purple and gold.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news that the Lakers and Pelicans agreed to deal sending The Brow to the Lakers in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and a total of three first round picks, including the No. 4 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Adding Davis alongside LeBron James legitimizes the Lakers as title contender, if not the outright favorites to win the Western Conference next season. They will also have the ability to add players with cap space this season to help solidify their squad around LeBron and Davis. Davis could also help the Lakers create more space if he waives a $4 million trade bonus, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

LeBron and Davis automatically become the NBA’s most feared frontcourt, one full of a variety of different lineups and schemes for head coach Frank Vogel. Also, Davis gives LeBron James one of the most accomplished teammates he’s ever had. Aside from Dwyane Wade, it would be hard to find any of LeBron’s teammates with a better resume than The Brow.
