Anthony Davis to LA noticeably impacted Thunder’s sportsbooks standing

To put it simply, things just got a lot more difficult for the Oklahoma City Thunder heading toward the 2019-20 season.

In the span of five days, the Thunder’s chances to make a run at the NBA Finals when from challenging (pre-Kevin Durant’s torn Achilles) to possible (post-Durant injury) to reasonable (post-Klay Thompson’s torn ACL).

After Thompson’s injury, the Western Conference was wide open for the taking. There wasn’t a super team at the end of the road for teams to worry about.

Well, the whole idea of there being no insurmountable team setting the bar for everyone else wasn’t even good for 48 hours. Because Anthony Davis is heading to Los Angeles to play with LeBron James on the Lakers.

The odds on the Lakers winning the NBA Finals have already improved, while the Thunder’s chances, which were previously 16-to-1 according to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, have decreased significantly:

Looks like the Thunder have to start planning to beat yet another super squad.
