Anthony Davis (shoulder) leaves game but returns vs. Grizzlies

Anthony Davis seemed to tweak his shoulder in the Los Angeles Lakers win on Sunday night against the Charlotte Hornets when he came up short on a dunk attempt. While Davis played through the game and finished with 29 points, he clearly didn’t get through the game unscathed.

Davis was forced to leave Tuesday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2nd half, causing immediate concern from everyone watching the game. But according to Lakers team reporter Mike Trudell, the expectation is that Davis eventually comes back into the game and that the shoulder isn’t serious. In fact, by the time we posted this story, Davis has already checked back into the game for the Lakers.

Davis has dealt with shoulder injuries throughout his career and has also dealt with injuries throughout his career that take him out of game temporarily before eventually working his way back to the court. It’s certainly a good sign that Davis is back on the court for the Lakers but the sensitivity he showed towards his right shoulder is worth monitoring.
