Anthony Davis says Celtics, every other team, on his list of preferred teams

The Anthony Davis saga continues to get more confusing and this time, the complications came from the man himself.

Davis, while taking the stage at the most hectic media scrum of the season at the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend media day, was asked about the different teams that he reportedly would sign an extension with if he was traded to. The teams that were previously reported were the Lakers, Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks.

Infamously not included in the initial list: the Boston Celtics. But Davis says that’s actually not the case.

If you’re a Celtics fan, this is a a good sign. Especially given the comments from The Father of The Brow, Davis’ positive comments about the Celtics do mark a change in the rhetoric. It could also be a simple recognition of the leverage he has at the moment, which is considerable, but a little bit less than it appeared before the trade deadline.

There could be other reasons behind Davis saying that, like being surrounded by the largest media horde of the season with media from basically every basketball loving place on earth and wanting to please everybody on a kumbaya moment for the game. And only minutes later, Davis told NBA TV that all 29 times are on his list! Kumbaya, indeed.

Even if there were a time for Davis to publicly say he wouldn’t want to go to Boston, All-Star Weekend isn’t the time for it.
