Anthony Davis added another chapter of dominant play to his resume for both Defensive Player of the Year and the Most Valuable Player award while setting the stage for so much more, scoring 50 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals as the Lakers won by a wide margin, 142-125 on Sunday night.
In addition to the big night for Davis, LeBron James dominated as he has all season long by totalling 32 points, 13 assists and four rebounds on the evening. The Timberwolves have been one of the league’s most intriguing stories over the first few months but the Lakers, as they have done this season, didn’t have any time for cute stories from their opponents.
In addition to the two stars, reserve guard and viral favorite Alex Caruso had 16 points off the bench for the Lakers to go with four assists and four rebounds. And behind JaVale McGee, Dwight Howard once again answered the bell with eight points and six rebounds in just 22 minutes of play.
With the victory, the Lakers once again took sole possession of the best record in the NBA at 21-3. They’re also only 10 days away from what could be an NBA Finals preview on Dec. 19 in Milwaukee at the end of their upcoming five-game road trip.
