Anthony Davis MRI postponed until Monday after late flight from China

The costs of the Los Angeles Lakers’ week-long trip to China are still playing out only hours after the team arrived back in the United States. Because the trip home took longer than usual, the Lakers will have to push further examination of star big man Anthony Davis until Monday following the long flight across the Pacific.

Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group reported the scoop on Davis’ MRI getting pushed to Monday, the day the Lakers are also scheduled to take on the Golden State Warriors at Staples Center.

This presumably means that further updates on Kyle Kuzma and Talen Horton-Tucker, who have both been limited in the preseason, also will be delayed. However, Davis is obviously more important than either of those players when it comes to the long-term outlook for the Lakers.

Since the Lakers need to wait until tomorrow, it seems unlikely that Davis suits up against the Western Conference champion Warriors. Considering they had to push Davis’ exam, the Lakers will probably be conservative with the workload for LeBron James as well.
