Anthony Davis has already reached a level of trust with LeBron James in less than a month that many of his former Lakers teammates never had the privilege of earning: an invitation to the world’s most famous taco party.
Davis was a guest at last night’s Taco Tuesday at the James house, which has become well-known thanks to James’ performative ‘Taco Tuesday’ chants and the way he gets the entire family to join in just as enthusiastically (except his wife, Savannah). James also had a t-shirt to go with his favorite day of the culinary calendar.
LeBron was calling himself ‘Slim King Calhoun’ on his Instagram the other day, suggesting that he’s cutting more weight than usual in anticipation for the upcoming season. He went on a diet last season when he got injured on Christmas Day but he’s already sounds like someone who will take diet and load management more seriously this season.
And as far as Anthony Davis is concerned, it’s not a bad thing to see the two best players on the team finding ways to connect away from the floor, something that didn’t really exist on last year’s Lakers team.
