Anthony Davis has not yet sprinted or played with contact since fall

Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis was back on the practice court in uniform on Tuesday morning but he still isn’t doing anything at full speed, making his return to the court on Wednesday night a questionable endeavor.

Davis spoke to reporters at the Lakers practice facility on Tuesday and told them that he’s done some activities but hasn’t yet sprinted or played with full contact since suffering a fall last week that led to a serious bruise on his butt, according to The Athletic’s Bill Oram. So while Davis is healing, he’s still not playing real basketball yet. But the Lakers still have another day between now and Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic, so they’ve considered him questionable.

Given that the Lakers have a long road trip coming up where they will play Houston, Philadelphia, Boston and the two New York teams, the Lakers may be best served to keep Davis’ sore bum on ice to let him be ready one of the longest trips of the season for L.A.
