Anthony Davis confirms LeBron James tested positive for COVID-19, is asymptomatic

The Los Angeles Lakers had another setback Tuesday when LeBron James entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol.

LeBron did not play in the blow out win against the Sacramento Kings and could miss the next three games. He will be in the protocol for the next 10 days or until he returns two negative tests in 24 hours.

After the win, Anthony Davis confirmed James had tested positive for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic.

“He said he’s good,” Davis said. “I think he said he’s asymptomatic, which is a good sign. But we want to make sure that he gets back. Health is most important. It’s bigger than basketball. He has a family, and we want to make sure that he’s good no matter what.”

The Lakers next play the L.A. Clippers and Boston Celtics in Staples Center before going on the road to face the Memphis Grizzlies. James should be back after the Grizzlies game unless he clears the protocol before then, but, as Davis said, his health is most important.
