Monday night’s loss for the Los Angeles Lakers was a rare first in the career of LeBron James and a rare night in the sense that both James and his co-star Anthony Davis both struggled from the field. And while LeBron James has always been the leader for the Lakers, Anthony Davis has become ever more vocal during his time in a Lakers uniform. He continued that trend following Monday night’s loss against the Golden State Warriors, calling out his team and reminding the public that the Lakers don’t like to lose two games in a row.
“We know we’re a good team,” Anthony Davis said on Monday, according to SB Nation. “We know that teams are going to come out and play their best against us. But the way we lost, we don’t like. Obviously we have to look back at the film and see where we can be better, but we’ve always bounced back. We don’t like losing two in a row, so our next game, we’re going put a lot of pressure on ourselves to win that game.”
The Lakers start a seven-game Eastern Conference road trip on Thursday night when they face off against the two-time reigning NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, with the pressure Davis mentioned to avoid losing two straight games for the first time this season.
