Anthony Davis absolutely ripped the Lakers after their brutal loss to the Timberwolves

The Lakers are 7-6 right now and LeBron James is currently out of the lineup. So, in a vacuum, that doesn’t seem like that terrible of a spot to be in.

But it’s hard to imagine Lakers fans being confident in this team at all right now.

One person who certainly doesn’t seem to be is Anthony Davis. He called the team out after their 107-83 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The same loss in which the Lakers were outscored in the third quarter 40-12.

Davis straight up said the Lakers aren’t a championship team right now. He didn’t hold back any words after their performance.

“We’ve got to decide who we want to be. Championship team? That’s not us right now. We’re not winning a championship with the way we’re playing. We’ve got to be better. We’ve got to care more for our wins at home — wins in general. That was embarrassing.”

Sheesh. Davis sounds absolutely fed up.

And, honestly, can you blame him here? The Lakers had a 5-point lead at halftime. Then the Wolves came out and absolutely blasted them in the third quarter. That’s where the game was lost. That can’t happen.

But it did. And they blew another lead. It’s been the story of their season so far.

The caveat here is, obviously, LeBron James isn’t playing because he’s out with an abdominal injury. But he’s also 36-years-old and will be 37 in December. He can’t always fix their problems.

The Lakers need to figure it out and they need to do it soon. Otherwise, Davis is right. There’s no championship coming to LA.
