Anthony Cacace gets new date for Lyon Woodstock title defence

Belfast’s Anthony Cacace will finally get to defend his British super-featherweight crown against Lyon Woodstock next month.

The clash has been added to a big Queensberry Promotions bill being held at Utlilta Arena in Birmingham on August 28.

Injuries and illness have prevented the fight taking place since it was first scheduled last August.

Cacace hasn't found since winning the British title against Sam Bowen back in November 2019.

He was originally due to fight Woodstock last summer but that was postponed after Cacace was hospitalised after suffering an infection following dental surgery.

The Belfast boxer was then left "absolutely heartbroken" when the rescheduled fight in February was postponed at the eleventh hour after Woodstock tested positive for Covid-19.

Also added to next month's 'Night of Champions' bill is the EBU, British and Commonwealth super-bantam title showdown between Foster and Cunningham.

Ennis-Brown and Sam Maxwell will also fight for the British and Commonwealth super-lightweight titles.

The big bill will also see the return of light-heavyweight star Anthony Yarde, Stoke sensation Nathan Heaney and English bantamweight champion Liam Davies.
