Anthony Bourdain has been posthumously awarded two Emmys for his travel food series Parts Unknown.
The late chef won the outstanding writing for nonfiction programming award for writing the episode titled “Kenya” at the Creative Arts Emmy awards on Saturday.
The CNN series also scooped the gong for outstanding informational series or special.
Friends and colleagues of Bourdain have written a series of emotional tweets about the wins.
His assistant Laurie Woolever wrote: “One of a million things I wish he were here for” while his friend chef Jose Andres said: “Our friend keeps delivering the goods....I know you are celebrating somewhere....congratulations Dear Friend.”
Bourdain took his own life in France last June while filming for the programme. He was 61.
The world renowned chef was found in a hotel room in Strasbourg by close friend Eric Ripert, the executive chef of New York's Le Bernardin restaurant.
CNN said in a statement at the time: "It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain.
"His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.
"His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and Anthony Bourdain and Yotam Ottolenghi in Jerusalem prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."
Parts Unknown was nominated this year for an additional four Emmys, including outstanding cinematography for a nonfiction program (for the “Bhutan” episode), outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program (“Lower East Side”), outstanding sound editing for a nonfiction program (“Far West Texas”), and outstanding sound mixing for a nonfiction program (“Kenya”).
In 2010, Bourdain's No Reservations series was nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy for Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming.
From 2013 to 2016 and in 2018, Bourdain won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Informational Series or Special for Parts Unknown.
