Anthea Turner has revealed a painful black eye after a back flip she performed went horribly wrong.
The 59-year-old TV veteran says she was taking part in a lip sync battle when she attempted the daring move only to face plant the floor.
Anthea said she thought she'd 'got away with it' after immediately putting ice to her eye, but her injury soon flared up and she was horrified to wake up the next day with a huge black eye.
Posting a snap of her pulling a stunned face next to her French bulldog, Anthea revealed the extent of her bruising.
She wrote in the caption: "To cut a long story short it was an over the shoulder back flip that went horribly wrong during a game of Lip Sync Battles and I ended up face planting.
"To be honest I thought I’d got away with it, bit of an egg on my forehead which with ice was going down rather well, until the next day when I woke up looked in the mirror and saw this horror OMG a shocker and I have so much work on ….
The desperate star said she'd tried a number of methods to help heal her wounds.
"Been doing everything to get rid of it including Arnica tablets, Arnica Balm, and Bromelain (its an enzyme present in pineapple used to reduce inflammation) Went running as usual to @bodyvie_mediclinic , Kew , where they hit the action button laying me under their Dermalux red light for 30 mins which soothes and accelerates healing, then it was a little light lymphatic drainage to help remove the blood sitting around the eye, encouraging it to drain away.
She continued: "My other little home trick I’ve been using for years is to gently stroke the area with my electric toothbrush. Bruise or not I can give myself a stimulating 'pep me up' toothbrush facial after a flight or a late night out its amazing and really brightened up your face. When I don’t look so horrific I’ll show you."
After sharing the candid post, Anthea was inundated with messages of support from concerned fans.
It comes just weeks after she was pictured in a public bust-up with her fiancé Mark Amstrong.
The pair were locked in a fierce argument at the airport after forgetting to sort out their visas before heading off to New York on holiday.
Onlookers reported Mark arrived at the airport 25 minutes before Anthea, and they greeted one another with a kiss.
But they soon realised they had forgotten to fill out their ESTA, (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) form which decides whether a traveller is eligible to enter the UK.
Anthea later took to Twitter to confirm they had made it to the States in the end, but only after she rebooked all of their flights after the drama.
The former GMTV presenter met Mark last year at a private members club, with them getting engaged five months later.
It will be the third trip down the aisle for Anthea, who was previously married to Grant Bovey and before that Peter Powell.
