Anthea Turner not social-distancing from fiancé as they stock up on bleach

Anthea Turner and her fiancé Mark Armstrong ignored the government's social-distancing guidelines as they headed out to stock up on bleach.

The former Blue Peter and GMTV presenter, 59, was spotted out in Richmond yesterday heading to the shops with her beau.

Despite Prime Minister Boris Johnson's recommendation that people should stay two metres apart from each other amid the global coronavirus pandemic, they walked closely side-by-side as they got out of the car and headed into the shop.

Anthea kept it casual for her shopping trip in skin-tight black sports leggings, trainers and a black zip-up jacket.

Mark also went casual in jeans, and a T-shirt with a zip-up cardigan and leather jacket.

The couple were pictured getting out of their car with their adorable pet dog before heading into DIY store Homebase.

Anthea later emerged carrying an XXL Value Pack of bleach in each hand, before loading them into the boot of their Range Rover.

In a bid to battle the COVID-19 pandemic after the death toll in England continued to rise, Johnson has warned that the government could impose stricter restrictions if the public do not follow social-distancing advice.

He said: "I want, of course I do, people to be able to go to the parks, open spaces and enjoy themselves.

"It is crucial for health, physical and mental well-being.

"But please follow that advice and don't think that fresh air in itself automatically provides some immunity.

"Take this advice seriously, follow it, because it's absolutely crucial."

During a TV appearance last year, Anthea described Mark as "The One" and suggested they could be having a whirlwind wedding.

Anthea, who got engaged to Mark after just five months of dating, told Lorraine Kelly: "I think when you get a little bit older you know what you don't want."

When probed about whether or not he was The One, Andrea said she felt he was and said that they were looking to get married in 2020, but that it wouldn't be a big wedding.

She said: "I think it's going to be friends and family."
