Ant spotted back behind the wheel, 15 months after drink-drive ban, reports claim

Ant McPartlin is said to be back behind the wheel, 15 months after he was banned from the roads.

The Geordie presenter was given a 20-month ban in April, after drunkenly smashing into two other cars in West London.

Like all drink drivers, he was offered the opportunity to cut his sentence to 15 months by completing a drink-driving rehabilitation programme.

It seems he's taken that opportunity, and this week The Mirror reports 43-year-old Ant was spotted taking girlfriend Ann-Marie Corbett for a spin in a silver Range Rover in West London.

A source told  The Sun:  "It hasn’t diminished the impact of everything which has happened, and remains fresh in his mind.

“It’s been a dreadful time and he has many regrets, but he’s very pleased to be getting back to normality too.

“The course is not something unique to him or his celeb status. Anyone could have done the same. It usually leads to a ban being reduced by a quarter."

Ant was arrested in March, 2018 after smashing his mini into another vehicle in south west London.

The presenter was later found to have been over the drink-drive limit, and pleaded guilty during a court appearance the following month.

Alongside his ban, Ant received Britain's largest ever drink-driving fine, of £86,000, with the judge saying he was taking the star's weekly income of about £130,000 into account when calculating the fine.

Ant took the rest of the year off to concentrate on his sobriety.

He returned to work in January this year for the auditions of Britain's Got Talent alongside Geordie best pal and co-star Declan Donnelly.

This week it was revealed that Ant has begun work on the 2019 series of I'm A Celebrity after being forced to withdraw ast year and replaced by Holly Willoughby.
