Ant pens poignant message to fans as he and Dec celebrate 20 NTA Best Presenter wins in a row

Ant had an emotional message for fans after he and best mate Dec had another glorious night at the National Television Awards, including winning Best Presenter for the 20th year in a row.

While Piers Morgan was desperate to upset the apple cart and pleaded for people to vote for him to halt Ant and Dec 's winning streak, it was the Geordie duo who emerged victorious once again.

Ant and Dec also beat Bradley Walsh, Holly Willoughby and Alison Hamond to take the Best Presenter trophy once again and, as ever, they were quick to thank all those who voted for them.

And, in the immediate aftermath of their Best Presenter win, which followed I'm A Celebrity's victory in Best Entertainment, Ant took to Twitter to pen a message to fans.

Using the lads' official account, he wrote: "You lot are simply the best viewers IN THE WORLD!!! 20 years winning the best presenter award is all down to you. I’m not crying you are! Thank you for voting and thank you for the love. We love you more."

Ant's tweet came after he and Dec gave a moving acceptance speech on stage at the O2 Arena.

Ant said: "This one means the most...20 years. Oh my god I'm shaking!

"This is really, really special, you've got no idea how special this is. Thank you very, very much."

Dec then got behind the mic to say: "It's pretty overwhelming erm thank you to ITV for all your continued support. To our management YMU, thanks for looking after us so brilliantly.

"To our lovely wives, thank you for looking after us too. To our families at home thank you so much."

He added: "When you get to 20, you can't help but stop and look back at the first time we were ever given one in 2001.

"So much has changed in our lives since then but one that that hasn't changed is that you take time year after year to vote for us and put us up here.

We're so honoured and humble and grateful. As Ant said, it means the absolute world."
