Ant Middleton declares he was 'too hot' for UK to handle after Who Dares Wins axe

Ant Middleton claims that he was 'too hot' for the UK to handle as he reflected on being axed from SAS: Who Dares Wins earlier this month.

The 40-year-old television personality sounded optimistic as he chatted to Jackie O and Kyle Sandilands on the The Kyle and Jackie O Show about returning to a new season of SAS Australia.

His latest radio appearance came after the ex-Special Forces soldier was sacked from Channel 4 over alleged off-screen conduct following complaints from female staff about him making 'inappropriate comments'. Ant has always denied the allegations.

Following his departure from Channel 4, Ant is now looking ahead to a new series of the show Down Under and even joked with the radio presenters that he was there to 'pester' the Australians.

"I'm too hot to handle for the UK, that's why I've come over to Australia. I've come over to pester you lot," he said during his appearance on the show.

He added: "With the UK version, once that final string pinged from my grasp and it was being controlled by health and safety, and it's being controlled by the production, then yeah we butted heads a bit and we parted ways a bit sourly."

"But listen, it's all good. It is what it is," Ant continued.

"'The moment my work starts to get diluted, and I don't stay true to who I am and true to what the course is about, then it's time for me to move on."

Ant's latest remarks came after the military expert and his team flew to Australia and headed into quarantine before commencing filming next month. In the past few days, he has shared several social media updates from his luxury hotel overlooking Sydney.

At the start of March, The Mirror revealed that Channel 4 had decided to stop working with Ant because of his behind-the-scenes conduct. At the time, four female staffers came forward and claimed that he made "lewd and suggestive comments" toward them.

A representative for Ant said, at the time: "Ant categorically denies your allegations. He is always disciplined and utterly professional.

"This is the first we have been informed of any such complaint which has never been mentioned previously to Ant or any of his team by Minnow or Channel 4."

A Channel 4 spokesman also recently told The Mirror: “Our decision not to renew Ant Middleton’s contract and not to work with him again was solely based on his personal conduct off-camera and is not related to his on-screen persona as a DS."
