Ant McPartlin has debuted a brand new tattoo as he was seen posing with Dec Donnelly in Australia for the first time ahead of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here's return at the weekend. The Geordie duo will be back on screens on Sunday (November 6) as the ITV reality show kicks off its 2022 series.
The programme has already been hitting the headlines over its line-up before any of the new campmates have been seen on-screen. Boy George, Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner, TV presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas, former footballer Jill Scott and comedian Babatunde Aleshe will be seen for the first time this weekend.
They'll be joined by Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, reality TV star Olivia Attwood, radio DJ Chris Moyles, rugby star and royal Mike Tindall plus Loose Women star Charlene White as they swap their everyday comforts for life in the jungle as I'm A Celeb returns home to Australia.
But the signing that has got people talking is that of Matt Hancock. The former health secretary is reportedly set to enter camp alongside comedian Seann Walsh as latecomers to the series which fans have gotten used to seeing each year.
Aside from the controversial line-up choice, it has been three years since Ant and Dec last hosted the show from Australia and the jungle camp has undergone a bit of a makeover. While fans may think it looks the same, it has actually been made slightly bigger this year.
Bunkbeds have been installed in the campsite for the first time in its two-decade run, and a new luxury motorhome has also been parked at the top of the outdoor space which will be used to house two celebrities who will be voted into power in the camp like seen in the previous series.
And in brand new photos, Ant and Dec can be seen getting familiar with their new, tropical surroundings after meeting the celebrities for the first time. The pair, who also host Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain's Got Talent, could be seen basking in the sun as they posed up for the cameras.
Ant was seen donning a dogtooth patterned shirt with short sleeves and black trousers but your eyes couldn't help but be drawn to his new inking. The new black and white ink sits on his inner right forearm and is of the iconic Imagine mosaic, named after John Lennon's iconic song.
The tattoo was clearly displayed in the new snap, which features a spiral mosaic circle with the word 'Imagine' on the inside. Ant was stood alongside he co-star and pal who was all smiles in a breezy blue short-sleeved shirt and black trousers.
And the pair have been teasing the new series as the duo shared a 'BeReal' snap - a real-time social media snap which takes photos simultaneously in normal and selfie mode - and revealed that they were on a speed boat on the way to meet the celebrity line-up.
They captioned the snap: "It’s time to meet the celebs." Images have also been released of the pair meeting the glamourous celebs which viewers will see on Sunday, it comes before they head for the first task which comes before they even get into the jungle.
The main celebrity line-up of 10 famous faces will fact the 'walk the plank' challenge which will test their fear of heights. Actor and Celebrity Gogglebox star Babatunde has been seen holding his head in his hands and, quite frankly, looking terrified as he went to step out onto a plank suspended from a 32-storey building on the Gold Coast.
It has been reported that Babatunde backed out of the trial, which has been renamed 'The Ledge' this year, after 45 minutes of deliberation. Meanwhile, Charlene and Jill have been seen taking the plunge.
"Babatunde was really struggling during The Ledge and everyone felt for him," an onlooker told The Sun. "It truly is a terrifying task and no one can grasp the scale of it until you are there. Jill and Charlene were being really encouraging of Babatunde but to no avail."
